今日のことば

エゼキエル 23:36, 48-49（新改訳SKY2017）　主は私に言われた。「人の子よ、あなたはオホラとオホリバをさばくのか。それなら彼女たちに、その忌み嫌うべきわざを告げ知らせよ。48 わたしはこの地から淫らな行いを取り除く。すべての女たちは自分自身を戒め、あなたがたがしたような淫らな行いをしなくなる。49あなたがたの淫らな行いの報いはあなたがたの上に下り、あなたがたは自分たちの偶像に対する罪責を負わなければならない。このとき、あなたがたは、わたしが神、主であることを知る。」

コメント

旧約の律法では「あなたたちは主に対して罪を犯すのであり、その罪は身に及ぶことを知るがよい」（民数記32:23 新共同訳）とあります。新約聖書においても「罪の報酬は死です」（ローマ6:23SKY2017）とあります。必ず、罪の結果があります。確かに主はあわれみ深い神であり、私たちが悔い改め、主に立ち帰るときには罪を赦し、きよめてくださいます（1ヨハネ1:9参照）。でも、罪の罰が取り払われても、それは罪の結果（実）を取り去るものではありません（1コリント6:9-10も参照）。みことばは宣言しています。「思い違いをしてはいけません。神は侮られるような方ではありません。人は種を蒔けば、刈り取りもすることになります」（ガラテヤ 6:7 SKY2017）。先ほどのローマ6:23は続いています「．．．しかし神の賜物は、私たちの主キリスト・イエスにある永遠のいのちです」（SKY2017）。1コリント6章にも多くの罪を並べ指摘して、これらのものは私たちを神から遠ざけるものであると言ってから、パウロは言いました。「あなたがたのうちのある人たちは、以前はそのような者でした。しかし、主イエス・キリストの御名と私たちの神の御霊によって、あなたがたは洗われ、聖なる者とされ、義と認められたのです」（1コリント 6:11 SKY2017）。後にパウロはまた書かれました。「というのは、キリストの愛が私たちを捕らえているからです．．．。15キリストはすべての人のために死なれました。それは、生きている人々が、もはや自分のためにではなく、自分のために死んでよみがえった方のために生きるためです。17ですから、だれでもキリストのうちにあるなら、その人は新しく造られた者です。古いものは過ぎ去って、見よ、すべてが新しくなりました」（2コリント 5:14-15,17 SKY2017）。私たちの罪は赦され、神との関係が回復され、新しく造られたものになっていても、私たちの罪の結果（実）の影響が続くこともあることを覚えておかなければなりません。しかし、ここにも、神の恵みは十分に働き私たちを支え、助けてくださるのです。

Eze 23:36,48-49 NLT  The LORD said to me, “Son of man, you must accuse Oholah and Oholibah of all their detestable sins. 48 In this way, I will put an end to lewdness and idolatry in the land, and My judgment will be a warning to others not to follow their wicked example. 49 You will be fully repaid for all your prostitution—your worship of idols. Yes, you will suffer the full penalty. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.”

Observation

The Law says, “you have sinned against the LORD, and be sure your sin will find you out.” (Num 32:23 ESV). The NT says, “the wages of sin is death.” (Rom 6:23 ESV).  There are always consequences to sin.  Yes, the Lord is merciful and forgives our sin when we acknowledge it and repent (see 1John 1:9).  But it does not erase the effects and consequences (the fruit) of sin (see 1Cor 6:9-10). “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” (Gal 6:7 ESV)   Rom 6:23 continues, “…but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (NLT).  In 1Cor 6 after listing some of the sins that defile and separate us from God, Paul says, “And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1Cor 6:11 ESV).  Paul later writes, “For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2Cor 5:14-15,17 ESV). But we must remember that even though we are forgiven and our relationship with the Lord God is restored, the fruit and consequences of sin can continue to reverberate through our lives, and yet God’s grace is also available to sustain us even then.
