ローマ12:1（新改訳SKY2017）　ですから、兄弟たち、私は神のあわれみによって、あなたがたに勧めます。あなたがたのからだを、神に喜ばれる、聖なる生きたささげ物として献げなさい。それこそ、あなたがたにふさわしい礼拝です。

旧約時代において人々は神を喜ばし、受け入れられるために動物のいけにえをささげました。イエスは私たちのために神の子羊としていけにえとなられました（ヨハネ1:29。ゆえに、私たちの罪を取り除き、神の前で義とされ受け入れられる者とされました。しかし、今は私たちもささげることができるいけにえもあります。私たちの賛美礼拝は神にささげるいけにえです。また、慈善と持ち物を分かち合うことも神に喜ばれるいけにえです（へブル13:15,16参照）。しかし、ここでパウロはもっとも神に喜ばれる最高のいけにえは私たちの体を持っての毎日の普通の生活、寝たり、食べたり、出勤したり、人生の歩みそのものをすべて神にささげて委ねることであると言っています。これはきよく生きて、全てをもって神の心を喜ばせることこそ私たちの最高のいけにえであり、真の礼拝の現れです。イエスは弟子たちに言いました。「だれでも私について来たいと思うなら、自分を捨てて、十字架を負ってわたしに従って来なさい」（マタイ16:24SKY2017）。動物のいけにえがささげられるためにはその動物が死ななければなりません。しかし、私たちはいけるいけにえとなるようにと言われています。自分と罪に対して死んで、神に対して生きることです（ローマ6:11参照）。これこそ私たちの最大の礼拝のいけにえです。

Rom 12:1 (NIV84)  Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

(TPT) Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship. 

(MSG) So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life–your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life–and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

Observation

In the OT people brought animal sacrifices to please God and be acceptable by him.  Jesus became or sacrificial Lamb of God that takes away our sin and makes us righteous and acceptable before God.  But there are still sacrifices which we can and must offer that will please God.  Our worship and praise is a sacrifice which we can offer (see Heb 13:15).  Doing good to others, sharing what we have is also called a sacrifice and is pleasing to God.  But here Paul tells us one of the greatest sacrifice is to offer our very bodies with which we live our everyday lives; “your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around-life.” (MSG). “And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.” (TPT).  Jesus said if we wanted to be his disciples we must, deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow him. (see Matt 16:24 etc.).  When an animal sacrifice is offered, it dies; but we are challenged to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice.  That means we die to ourselves but live unto God.  This becomes our greatest expression of sacrificial worship.
